Get Involved — Volunteer!

When adults volunteer, all students benefit! There are many opportunities for parents and community members to get involved!  Your help, no matter how large or small, is needed!

For now, we are looking for volunteers to help with the 2020-2021 Academic Year :

STUDENT VOLUNTEERING INFORMATION:

Our Mission
OHE students will grow personally through service to others in their communities.

What is a National School of Service?
National School of Service is one where at least 5% of students provide and log 25 hours or more of service to their community. For OHE, this means about 20 students. The only requirement is that the volunteer is not paid for the service, so the sky is the limit!

Why should I volunteer?
All Oak Hill students have the ability to track community service hours this year to qualify for the Blue Valley Service Awards. Students between the ages of 5-10 who perform at least 26 hours of community service will receive a certificate. Students between the ages of 11-15 who perform at least 50 hours of community service will qualify for a certificate and a pin. If enough students from OHE receive this recognition, then OHE will be recognized as a Blue Valley School of Service.

How do I log my hours?
There is a community service log in the back of each OHE planner, or students can keep a digital log throughout the year.  Students need to turn in completed logs to Nurse Ali. If students have questions, please have them stop by and see Nurse Alli, our community service sponsor or email her at awiles@bluevalleyk12.orgSee the sample log of service hours under documents. We encourage all students to log the community service that they do!
